Through donations, we've been able to make over 50 trips to Western North Carolina. We were able to help clean mud from a home and property, and debris from the property. This family lost all of their posessions as many did, but did not lose their home because it was clean and dried before deep mold and mildew set in. Working with other teams, we were able to help clean mud and debris from various other properties as well.
Mercy Unveiled was able to supply water, food, baby food and formula, clothing, blankets, hand warmers, bear spray, fire starter and matches/lighters, propane, and cookstoves to many families. We were also able to help supply local churches with provisions for the community and helped supply christmas gifts to children. Through your giving, we were also able to help assist a family of seven with financial aid for a home. None of this could have been possible without you.
It's still a very long road to recovery, but you helped us meet these basic needs at a time when their world was turned upside down by a devastating hurricane, the likes of which had never been seen around here before. In fact, by the time a hurricane reaches these parts, it is very mild. This was no regular hurricane.
THROUGH ALL THIS... 14 people got saved and gave their lives to Jesus Christ! Steven G., of Old Fort, the dad whose home I previously mentioned- the one who lost all their posessions, said to me, "We lost everything in the flooding, everything we own is gone. But now, we have what we've been missing all along: God is all we ever needed." He then went and climbed atop his posessions that were piled on the side of the road and exclaimed, "This is just stuff! God is amazing!" Of course they were suffering. But oh how Jesus brings hope to what seems to be a hopeless situation. To God be the glory.
